Adorable Raku Ceramic Owl

Raku owl in grog stoneware, glazed in glossy white with smoky black parts. Decorative object to place on a piece of furniture.

The cracks and matte-black color are obtained by raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century and used for tea ceremonies (see details in the "ABOUT US" tab).

All my pieces are handmade in France, in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Pyrénées Atlantiques near Pau.
