Soliflore and its Poppies Raku Ceramic

Soliflore raku stoneware glazed white shiny cracked and smoked for the black parts. This soliflore allows you to choose either a decoration with its pretty red raku poppy flowers, or to use it as a vase for cut flowers because this soliflore has been sealed. You can also plant your poppies in the pot of a green plant for decoration. Small heart mounted with natural string and is removable.

Its great height 40 cm gives it its elegance. The diameter of the soliflore is 6cm. The poppies are mounted on steel rods.

The cracks and the matte black color are obtained thanks to a raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for the tea ceremony (see details in the "ABOUT" tab). Every raku is a unique piece

All my pieces are French handmade, made with love in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie which is located in the Atlantic Pyrenees between Pau and Tarbes, facing the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.

The raku being porous the waterproofing was done with a special product. In spite of all the attention that I bring there it is advisable to pay attention to it.
