Very representative of the Zen Raku by its soft shape and its raw material this beautiful decorative object will be able to be used as a pocket on a pretty piece of furniture or on a coffee table decorated with candies why not? Its cracks are so beautiful and its enamel so shiny that it will attract all eyes! Entirely handmade, the clay has been worked in such a way as to make this large bowl, a unique bowl.
Large bowl or pocket raku stoneware enamelled white shiny cracked and smoked for the black parts. Its rough shape lets you see the grog (small pebbles) on the smoked part and lets you see all the work of the material. Large bowl all glazed inside.
The cracks and the matte black color are obtained thanks to a raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique that dates back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for the tea ceremony (see details in the tab "ABOUT").
All my pieces are handmade in France, made with love in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie which is located in the Atlantic Pyrenees, between Pau and Tarbes facing the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.
The raku is porous and cannot be used for wet food.
