Very representative of Zen Raku by its rough shape, this beautiful decorative object can be used as a pocket on a nice piece of furniture or on a coffee table decorated with candies. Its color is so beautiful and its enamel so shiny that it will attract everyone's attention!
White enamelled stoneware raku pocket with a very shiny finish, finely crackled and smoked on the black parts. Its shape is a bit rough, allowing to see the grog (small pebbles) on the smoked part. Bowl all enamelled inside.
The cracks and the matte black color are obtained thanks to a raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique that dates back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for the tea ceremony (see details in the tab "ABOUT US").
All my pieces are handmade in France, handmade with love in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie which is located in the Atlantic Pyrenees near Pau.
The raku being porous it could not be used for food. The earth used being chamotte (small pebbles) be careful with the top of the furniture.
