Raku vase made of chamotte stoneware, glazed in blue/green satin and smoked for the black parts. Perfectly watertight, you can put your natural flowers in it, and its weight and height give it real stability. Very elegant vase with a distinctive smoked finish. Small red enamel heart with black waxed cord.
The crackles and matte black color are achieved through raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for tea ceremonies. (See details in the “ABOUT” tab).
All my pieces are handmade in France, lovingly crafted in my ceramics workshop, Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Atlantic Pyrenees, facing the beautiful Pyrenees mountains, between Pau and Tarbes.
As raku is porous, it has been sealed with a special product. Despite all the care I take, it is advisable to handle it with care.
