Superb piece for this raku ceramic vase and flower set. Handcrafted and unique piece made entirely by hand in my workshop facing the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.
Raku vase in chamotte stoneware with a shiny white glaze and a smoky finish on the black parts. Very stable with two large white raku ceramic flowers mounted on iron stems (which may rust over time, which is also attractive). The height of the bottle alone is 20 cm and the diameter of the flowers is approximately 14 cm.
The crackles and matte black color are achieved through raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for tea ceremonies. (See details in the “ABOUT” tab).
All my pieces are handmade in France, lovingly crafted in my ceramics workshop, Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Atlantic Pyrenees between Pau and Tarbes, facing our beautiful Pyrenean mountains.
As raku is porous, it is best not to put water in it.
