Superb piece for this raku ceramic vase and flower set. Handcrafted and unique piece made entirely by hand in my workshop facing the beautiful Pyrenees mountains.
A raku stoneware vase with a bright blue glaze and smoky black parts. Very stable with its 5 small white raku ceramic flowers mounted on an annealed iron stem (the stems are fragile and bend easily) to give them an airy air... a beautiful decoration. Height of the bottle alone: 20 and the diameter of the flowers is more or less 7 cm.
The cracks and matte-black color are obtained by raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century, which the Japanese used for tea ceremonial (see details in the “ABOUT US” tab).
All my pieces are handcrafted in France, made with love in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Pyrénées Atlantiques between Pau and Tarbes, facing our beautiful Pyrenean mountains.
Since raku is porous, a special product was used to seal it. Despite all the care I take, it's best to be careful.
