Very representative of Zen Raku, this beautiful decorative object in the shape of a flower can be used as a pocket on a pretty piece of furniture or on a coffee table, why not decorated with sweets? The color is so beautiful and the glaze so brilliant, it's sure to catch everyone's eye!
Ceramic raku pot in high-gloss turquoise-blue chamotte stoneware, with fine craquelé and smoky black parts. Its shape represents a flower with petals. Original and highly decorative, this bowl is fully glazed on the inside.
The craquelures and matte black color are obtained by raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century, which the Japanese used for tea ceremonies (see details in the “ABOUT US” tab).
All my pieces are French handmade, lovingly crafted in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Pyrénées Atlantiques near Pau.
As raku is porous, it cannot be used for food. The clay used is chamotte (small pebbles), so be careful on furniture tops.
