A beautiful piece for this bamboo-shaped raku box, with a lovely opening to hold whatever you like. Secret box, jewelry box, it's up to you! This handcrafted creation is a unique piece, entirely handmade. Its original decoration gives it all its elegance.
This bamboo-shaped raku box is made of high-gloss blue-green/turquoise glazed chamotte stoneware with smoky black parts. It opens discreetly with a waxed cord to which a small black smoky heart and pearl are glued. The interior is smoky black.
The cracks and matte black color are obtained by raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century, which the Japanese used for tea ceremonial (see details in the "ABOUT US" tab).
All my pieces are handcrafted in France, made with love in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Pyrénées Atlantiques between Pau and Tarbes, facing our beautiful Pyrenean mountains.
Since raku is porous, a special product was used to seal it. Despite all the care I take, it's best to be careful.
