Raku vase. Glazed sandstone with a shiny white enamel, and a smoky finish for the parts in black. Nice height and very stable so you can put your large natural, dried or artificial flowers. Perfect as a center piece for any table. It's smooth finish with fine cracks makes this piece very charming.
The crackled effect and the mat black are achieved using a raku cooking process, an ancient Japanese technique used for tea ceremonies, which dates back to the 15th century. (See details on the "ABOUT" page).
All my pieces are handcrafted in France, made in my ceramic workshop Le raku de Sylvie which is located in the Atlantic Pyrenees near Pau.
As raku is porous, I sealed it with a special product to render it waterproof. Despite all the effort I put, please be careful.
