A beautiful piece for this soft, round raku box with a beautiful opening to put whatever you like. Secret box, jewelry box, it's up to you! This handcrafted creation is a unique piece, entirely handmade. Its highly original decoration lends it a touch of elegance, with a discreet opening adorned with little tassels!
This round Raku box is made of chamotte stoneware with a glossy white glaze and a smoky finish on the black sections. Its 13-cm opening, which is quite discreet, is secured by a waxed cord from which hang a smoky black bead and several smoky black pendants. The interior is smoky black.
The crackle patterns and matte black color are achieved through raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique dating back to the 15th century that the Japanese used for the tea ceremony. (See details in the “ABOUT” tab).
All my pieces are handcrafted in France, made with love in my ceramic studio, Le raku de Sylvie, located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region between Pau and Tarbes, facing our beautiful Pyrenees mountains.
Since raku is porous, it has been sealed with a special product. Despite all the care I take, it is best to handle it with care.
